‘Browny’ is one of Australia’s fair dinkum bush balladeers. With three great albums to his name - Remembering Gordon Parsons, Poverty Liner and his latest, Mate I’m Feelin’ Lucky, he has won many awards over the years, including the 2005 CMAA Country Music Awards of Australia Golden Guitar for Bush Ballad of the Year with Where The Yellow Kapocks Bloom. Other awards include - TIARA Awards, Peoples Choice Awards, and the Stan Coster Memorial Bush Ballad Award. He recently received the songwriter’s award at the 2005 Stan Coster Memorial awards with the song Fred Gutte, co-written by Jeff and William Crosbie. He is currently one of the most popular bush ballad performers in Australia.

Jeff Brown’s other love is his truck, aptly known as Poverty Liner. When Jeff is not touring or recording his main address is PO Box Poverty Liner. During the cotton season his music looks after itself while he hauls the modules to the cotton gins. This is the life that inspired the title track and name of his latest album Mate I’m Feelin’ Lucky. Written by Jeff’s good mate Keith Jamieson, it tells of life on the road in his truck, some good some bad.

Jeff’s smooth vocals and choice of songwriters creates a style of country music that is unmistakably Aussie. This coupled with some of the best musicians in the land making the ‘Browny’ sound his audiences love, he is always a popular entertainer at any concert or country music festival.

Jeff is planning a very busy year of touring and promoting his latest album which is selling so fast that a re-run has been ordred after only 6 months since original release.

Jeff Brown has achieved a lot in his 28 years and this is only the beginning, this young bloke is hell-bent on maintaining the traditional style of Australian bush ballads, and still has a long career ahead of him.
