Australian born singer/songwriter, Natalie Howard is presently based in Nashville, Tennessee. Her home town is the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.
She received a grant through the RADF (Regional Arts Development Fund) that financed a trip to America to write and record her first demo session. What came from that was her debut Australian album Yesterday's Makeup and USA and Canadian self-titled release.
Natalie's music is passionate and comes from the heart. Her songs cover everything from ballads to upbeat sassy numbers which show her versatility. She lives the music she sings which is current and vibrant with gentle touches of a pop influence.
Natalie's first #1 hit in Australia was the video clip of the song The Long Night duet with Nashville artist and hit songwriter James Dean Hicks. It was closely followed by her second #1 video hit You Never Knew Me on the CMC (Country Music Channel) Top 30 Countdown.
Natalie has achieved many Finalist Nominations in Songwriting and Artist Awards in Australia and overseas. All her Australian singles were radio hits and Is It Just Me became a Top 10 hit on the Country Tracks Top 30 Chart and a Top 5 on the Country Hot 30 National Country Airplay Chart.
The announcement of the Musicoz 2005 Best Country Artist Award with her song I Can't combined with the USA 2006 IMA (Independent Music Awards) Country Song of the Year with I Don't Want To Live Like That started off an amazing 12 months for Natalie.
Her self-titled album was released in USA in 2006 and a radio tour through various States helped her debut single I Don't Want To Live Like That chart extremely well on The Music Row Chart and was a Top 5 hit on the Independent Music Network (Los Angeles-New York) Country Top 30 Countdown.
Natalie shared the bill with Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Jimmy Wayne, James Dean Hicks and Jennifer Hanson during Tin Pan South week at 12th & Porter and was accompanied by James Dean Hicks in a 'live' acoustic performance on the popular TV programme 'Words & Music,' which is known as the Showcase for Nashville Songwriters. It is hosted by veteran entertainment reporter Harry Chapman.
Natalie's first fan signings at the GAC (Great American Country) TV and Y'all Magazine Booths during CMA Music Festival were greeted with great enthusiasm by her fans. She was interviewed by ABC (American Broadcasting Corporation) TV and her performances at the Wildhorse Saloon, 'The Circle' at The Country Music Hall of Fame, The Tin Roof, The Bluebird Cafe and the Chevy Sports Zone Stage were extremely well received.
"Her rousing performance in the Chevy Sports Zone at this year's CMA Music Festival was proof that this Australian import is definitely on the right track" - 2006 CMA Close Up News Service - Peter Cronin.
In September, Natalie was a featured artist in the 'Who's New' section of the world's most read country music publication, 'Country Weekly' and in the Debut Artists Spotlight section of 'CMA Close Up' the official publication of the Country Music Association.
Natalie was invited once again this year to perform with other premier songwriters at the 12th Key West Songwriters Festival in Florida. She performed at the world famous Hog's Breath Saloon as well as other great venues during the 5 day festival. One of her performances was filmed by GAC TV and included in their programme 'Country Music Across America'. An interview with her was included in the Key West Songwriters promotional video clip.
