Wildseed is a Sydney-based band offering an individual blend of contemporary country roots music combining the modern with the traditional. Rich harmonies, that telecaster twang and the textures and tones of the harmonica are fused with a suburban edginess while still remaining identifiably Country.

Didy, David, Alan and Geoff are seasoned performers having played in a variety of bands over the past 10 - 15 years from the nearly famous to the downright obscure. Their collective experience includes studio sessions, advertising jingles and countless pub, club corporate and festival shows.

Songs have been sourced from contemporary favourites the likes of Lucinda Williams, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Buddy and Julie Miller, The Dixie Chicks, Alison Kraus, Fred Eaglesmith and Trick Pony, with a tip of the hat to Gram Parsons, Patsy Cline and Ernest Tubb.

Original songs penned by the bands chief songwriter, Alan Bruce, are enhanced by the interesting and clever arrangements provided by Didy, David and Geoff. Strong melodies and lyrics plus an eclectic mix of rhythms and moods give a Sydney perspective to country music. Following on from well-received performances throughout the state, the band has commenced work on their new album due for release in 2005

If you combine Didy's dynamic vocal qualities with tight harmonies, add a cutting rebellious guitar player like David J Bull, wrap it all up in a tight solid rhythm section, Wildseed is what you get. Sometimes a little to the left of the standard. Fresh, vibrant with an Australian feel yet unmistakably Country.
