Darren Scott

Since he first picked up a violin at the age of 7, Darren Scott has emersed himself in music. During his teens he studied guitar, bass, music theory and composition under the guidance of Barry Harvey (Chain). During these years Darren gained valuable experience playing with a diverse range of musical groups including jazz, blues, rock, country, gospel bands and even a world-class handbell choir.

Turning professional at the age of 19, Darren continued to mature as a versatile musician, composer and producer. In 1993 he completed an Advanced Certificate in Contemporary Music at Southbank TAFE, Brisbane.

During his career, Darren has toured, performed and collaborated with numerous artists including Jimmy Little, Adrian Ross, Margret RoadKnight, Brandie Denham, Joe Camilleri, Dane Sharp, Oliver Jones, Jess McAvoy, Caroline Taylor-Knight and Sandy Pollard.

In recent years, Darren has travelled internationally in an effort to refine his songwriting and performance skills. Now, inspired by his mentors and sporting an impressive catalogue of self-penned songs, Darren has his sights set on a debut solo album.

Darren Scott is co-founder of popular Australian Country Music website ChannelC.com.au and has also established his own recording and publishing label 'Blues Corp'. The Blues Corp roster includes the much acclaimed Queensland singer/songwriter Genny Altmann.
