Where on Earth did she come from?!
Louise began singing solo at the age of 15. Hooked on the adrenaline from performing, she bought her first guitar and spent several weekends each year participating in talent comps throughout country NSW.
Louise studied music during her Higher School Certificate and went on to join her first musical trio at 17 years of age. In 2005, an academic career change instigated Louise’s relocation to Albury-Wodonga, where she took a lengthy break from performing. Needless to say, this ‘break’ came to a close when Louise realised music was running through her veins and she would thus embark on her journey to become Australia’s most unique female country artist — a comedy country musician.
Upon cessation of her academic studies, Louise began songwriting in 2008. She spent much of 2009 recording her debut album Chasing Sound with help from several of Australia’s top industry professionals.
Louise has well and truly directed her career and in particular, her songwriting skills, towards comical country music and is thrilled at the response she is getting for her cleverly humorous and very unique Australian flavour.
Louise’s incredibly popular single, The “One More” Song, a comical take on the everyday musician’s encore, received national acclaim as a semi-finalist in the 2010 TSA National Country Songwriting Competition.
The song was also named a top 5 finalist in the inaugural Blue Shoe Awards in 2010 for Best Comedy Song and took out the national award for Best Music Video (Regional) in the Australian Independent Music Video Awards for 2011. It was released to television (CMC), internet and radio in 2010 and has since received some very exciting feedback. This release certainly left country music professionals and fans alike, itching to see what Louise would deliver in her next release!
In December 2009 Louise supported Jimmy Barnes and Adam Brand during their tour. Just 12 months on, she was again selected to support the great rocker himself, as well as Vanessa Amorosi.
Louise enjoyed touring central Queensland with KIX FM in October 2010 to rave reviews and was deservedly named a national Top 20 Finalist for 2011 in the prestigious Toyota Star Maker competition.
Louise is continually networking with other comedians and musicians within the Australian entertainment industry and is thrilled to be working on her first fully-fledged comedy album. Be sure to keep your eyes and ears open for this exciting new talent, as we’re certain you’ll be requesting “ONE MORE” from Louise every chance you get!
